Cultural Flow Research Project

The Lake Eyre Basin Traditional Owner Alliance (LEBTOA) is a representative body bringing together Traditional Owner groups across one of Australia's most significant river systems. The Alliance works to strengthen Traditional Owner leadership in ecological and cultural research, Indigenous knowledge and advocacy for greater protection and management of this incredible free-flowing river system.

The Cultural Flows Project supports Traditional Owners to articulate, document, measure, and advocate for cultural water needs and aspirations throughout the Lake Eyre Basin. The project combines Indigenous knowledge systems, cultural governance, community engagement, policy development, and scientific evidence to inform water planning and resource management decisions.

Our members recently met in Windorah for a three day workshop to plan and design the cultural flow project.
